VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
Refer to theVehicleDescription sectionof thismanual on
page7, for additional information. Incomplete vehicles
produced by FordMotor Company require, for certain
applications, optional PrepPackages or trim codeswhichare
listed on theCompletedVehicleTypes charts on page8.
DAYTIMERUNNINGLAMP (DRL)
Compliance representations for CMVSS108, Lighting and
CMVSS 108.1, Headlamps, are on page 19.The following
items are also required for CMVSS 108 and108.1
compliance:
• TheDRLmodule circuits are not to be altered.
• DRLmodule is not to be repositioned.
• TheE-SeriesBasic (Stripped)Chassis isnot tobeequipped
withmore than two headlampswhen equippedwith aDRL
module as provided by FordMotor Company.
CANADIANRADIOFREQUENCY INTERFERENCE (RFI)
INFORMATION
All vehicles powered by spark ignition engines (e.g.:
gasoline, natural gas, or propaneengines) andmanufactured
inCanada or for sale or use inCanada are subject to
theCanadian “Regulations for theControl of Interference
toRadioReception” per Interference-CausingEquipment
Standard (ICES-002) and applicable test method according
to “CAN/CSA-C108.4-M92”.Violation of these regulations
is punishable by fine or imprisonment. This Ford-built
incomplete vehicle (if other than aBasic (Stripped) Chassis)
was designed andmanufactured tobe capable of meeting
the regulatory requirements or suchmodifications thereof
asmay have been authorized by theDepartment of
Communications.However, becauseFordMotor Company
has no control over how this incomplete vehicle is completed
by subsequent stagemanufacturers, FordMotor Company
does not represent that the completed vehicle incorporating
theFord-built componentswill complywith applicable
requirements.
The following information is supplied to subsequent stage
manufacturers tohelp them avoid increasing theRFI
emissions of this vehicle in the courseof completing it.
For any completed vehicle, additional measuresmay
be needed to adequately suppressRFI emissions.
Affected components could include spark plugs, ignition
wires, ignition coils, ground straps, ignition component
shields, accessory drive belts, instrument voltage regulator
suppressor assembly, and ignition coil suppressor assembly.
More specifically:
• All components required to suppressRFI emissions, which
are removed during service, repair, or completion of the
vehicle, must be reinstalled in the manner in which they
were installed by FordMotor Company.
• Shields on ignition coilsmust remain installed.
• Replacement spark plugs, ignition wires, and ignition coils
must be equivalent in their RFI suppression properties to
original equipment.
• Electrical grounds onall componentsmust be retained.
• Metallic components installed on the body or chassismust
be grounded to the chassis.
• Electrical circuitsadded to the vehiclemust not be installed
near the high voltage ignition components.
• Only “static conductive” accessory drive belts should be
used. Fan, water pump, power steering, and other belts
should be of theOEM type or equivalent that will not build
up a static electrical charge.
• Engine compartment wiring must not be rerouted in any
manner.
• ThePowertrainControlModule (PCM)mustnotbe relocated
from the positionas installedby FordMotor Company.
