AMBULANCE TYPE:
628XX AND 629XX series
ISSUE
This bulletin is to inform Service Managers that service BC Ambulance fleet of
Demers Ambulances that some units may experience charging issues on the OEM (GM)
cluster. In some instances the alternator feed wire had received a voltage spike while
starting the unit causing the existing fuse or manual reset breaker to trip. As a result the
alternator does not sense correct voltage causing an error message in the OEM cluster.
ACTION
It was requested by BC Ambulance based on Demers recommendations of previous
experience to have all alternator feed fuses or manual reset breakers be replaced with an
auto-reset breaker. It is recommended; at the time of failure to replace either the fuse or the
manual reset breaker with an auto-reset breaker as detailed in this bulletin.
