3.0 MODULARBODYREMOVAL
Once again, perform a quick check to ensure that there do not appear to be any significant
problems in removing themodular body from thechassis.
Remove theForewarn light assemblies from the front of thecab/grill area.
Having done this, we recommend that the vehicle be raised by a four-point hoist (tohave total
and unobstructed view of the underside of the chassis) and that the removal or disconnection
of theunder chassis componentsbegin. Items thatmust bedisconnected include;
-Removeheat shieldsasappropriate
-Heater hosesanddrainsystem
-Air conditioninghoses (don't forget toevacuate thesystem)
-Under chassiselectrical harnesses, both factoryandconversion
- Remove thebody to chassis ground strapandor other wires thatmay beattached to
thechassis.
-Remove the conversionbumper and towhooks
-Disconnect fuel filler lines
-Remove runningboards
- Remove the rear mud flaps to provide better clearances when removing the body
from thechassis.
All under chassis and under hood components are ideal candidates for replacement due to
theextremes in temperatureandweather that theyare subjected to.
Lower theambulanceandprepare for thenext phaseof thebody removal process.
Starting under the hood, remove and/or disconnect all conversion related electrical
components. Save for later use if possible.
Remove theauto throttle if not alreadydone.
Moving to the front cab area, remove and or disconnect all under hood conversion
components.
Disconnect the factory seat belts from thewall structure.
Remove all trim panels, cushions and seat recesses in the cab area that can be used for the
next chassis. If the original chassis is a 1991 Ford or earlier and the new chassis is a 92 or
