BASICREQUIREMENTS
Certain skilled peoplewill be required to do a remount. An electrician, environmental systems
technician, fabricator andassemblerwill certainlybeof benefit during the remount process.
In addition to this manual, a copy of the vehicle owner’s manual and videotape that was
issued with the vehicle at time of purchase should also be at hand. The vehicle manual
containsdetailedelectrical informationandother relevant information that couldbe invaluable.
Also, it is imperative that the remounter is conscious of the rules and regulations that govern
all vehicles that are used in Canada. Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards must be
adhered to and the completed remount must have a Statement of Compliance Sticker as
detailed byCMVSS. Generally, the IncompleteVehicleManual that is supplied by theO.E.M.
chassis manufacture will list all sections that require the attention of the remounter. Only
Transport Canada approved “remounters” are permitted to install aStatement of Compliance
decal.
Depending on the date of manufacture of the vehicle to be remounted, theremay or may not
be components that have tobeupgradedor added to the completedunit such that itmeetsall
applicable provincial regulations. These can only be determined at the time of remount.
