SAFETY NOTIFICATION
Demers Ambulance Fold-out Step Inspection
Affected Units:
Demers Ambulance unit numbers
63030 to 63092
with a flip step.
Issue:
Some fold-out side steps may have been incorrectly assembled with a
standard nut instead of a nylon locking nut. With use, standard nut assembly may
loosen and potentially render the fold out step unusable. Units must be inspected to
ensure the proper locking nuts where installed.
Required Actions:
Unit Chiefs -
Inspect the fold out step hinge points (indicated with red arrows)
ensuring the proper nylon lock nut was utilized and that it has not loosened off.
Nylon
locking nuts can be identified by the white plastic ring around shaft of the bolt. (Please
refer to
