This purposeof this bulletin is to offer aguide formaintaining ambulance exterior doors; specifically the
rotary latches, paddle latches, and doorstops. It offers suggested schedules only; actual maintenance
requirements on these components vary from service to service dependingonuse, weather and climate
conditions, etc. It offers tips onhow thingswork anda trouble-shootingguide, aswell as a detailed photo
of components tohelpwith their identification (andordering if required).
Lubrication:
Rotary
latches (themechanism that closes around the door jam pins) shouldbe lubricatedevery two to
threeweeks. This canbeaccomplished by sprayingdirectly on to them. It is recommendedproducts such
as
CRCWhiteLithiumGrease
or
KrownT40
beused for lubrication.
