WARRANTYPOLICY
The
Warranty InformationBooklet
, suppliedwitheveryFord vehicle, states:
Repairs arenot reimbursableunder theNewVehicleLimitedWarrantywhen:
•
The repairs are requiredbecauseof abuse, misuse, racing, fire, negligence, accident,
conversion, ormodification.
•
The repairs are requireddue to the installationof anon-Fordpart.
•
The repairs are requireddue todirect violation of FTQPprogramdirectionor IVMguidelines.
Under this policy, Forddoes not warrant 1) anon-Fordpart or 2) the repair of aFordpart when
that repair is requiredbecauseof amodification to or installationof anon-Fordpart. Inother
words, theuseof any non-Fordpart ormodificationdoes not void theFordwarranty. If, however,
theuseof thenon-Fordpart ormodification causes, or contributes to, the failureof aFord
component, the cost of repairing theFord component is not coveredby theFordNewVehicle
LimitedWarranty. In such cases, the customer wouldhave to look to the seller or installer of the
non-Fordpart ormodification for replacement of theaffected components and for repair of any
relateddamage to the vehicle.
Thedeterminationof the root causeof the failure ismadeat the timeof the request for service,
ona caseby casebasis, by theFord dealer or aFord service representative.
