Details:
The intention of this bulletin is to provide a more robust rear tail pipe hanger, resulting in an over-all increase in
support for the exhaust system. There have been some instances where the existing tail pipe hanger has broken,
resulting in damage to the exhaust pipe.
Tools:
Welder
Reciprocating saw
Clamps
Instructions:
Disconnect negative terminals on all batteries
Remove aftermarket rear tail pipe hanger
Prop tail pipe with blocking in appropriate location, ensuring relatively even load on other hangers
Position new exhaust hanger assembly vertically, location it by placing the lower portion of the hanger
against the existing, contoured and welded round stock on the tail pipe
Mark position of upper bracket on frame, clean frame and weld upper bracket in position
Apply approximately 10 pounds of additional lift pressure to tail pipe
Weld lower bracket stock to existing contoured stock on tail pipe
Remove blocking or jack and check all hangers
Cut off excess lower hanger bracket stock below tail pipe
Reconnect battery negatives
