FLEET OPERATIONS

February 28, 2014

Attention: BC Ambulance Service Representative

There have been instances on the Chevrolet gasoline engine ambulances where

the serpentine belt prematurely wears and emits an audible chipping noise. Due

to inconsistencies during manufacturing, ambulance manufacturers may have

installed an incorrect sized idler pulley between the two alternators.

PROCEDURE

At the next scheduled A service inspect the serpentine belt tensioner for correct

positioning.

If your Chevrolet gasoline engine belt tensioner has exceeded the maximum

position as shown in the picture – Contact the ambulance manufacturer

(Crestline or Demers) for the correct idler pulley (and belt) for warranty

replacement.

For any questions or concerns please contact

Fleet Operations at 1-877-652-7465
