Attention: BC Ambulance Service Representative
There have been instances on the Chevrolet gasoline engine ambulances where
the serpentine belt prematurely wears and emits an audible chipping noise. Due
to inconsistencies during manufacturing, ambulance manufacturers may have
installed an incorrect sized idler pulley between the two alternators.
PROCEDURE
At the next scheduled A service inspect the serpentine belt tensioner for correct
positioning.
If your Chevrolet gasoline engine belt tensioner has exceeded the maximum
position as shown in the picture – Contact the ambulance manufacturer
(Crestline or Demers) for the correct idler pulley (and belt) for warranty
replacement.
