Battery Charger In-Line Fuse Holder Upgrade - Crestline Ambulances
The purpose of this upgrade is to provide a more robust 10 gauge in-line fuse holder and higher
amperage fuse for the on-board battery charger output leads on Crestline ambulances.
Procedure:
1)
In the ambulance side electrical compartment, locate both battery charger output leads/in-line
fuse holders routed from the on-board
battery charger to the Boost solenoid terminals.
2)
Replace the existing in-line fuse holders and leads with the supplied 10ga. in-line fuse holders;
using an eyelet connector attach one end of the in-line fuse holders to the terminals on each
side of the Boost solenoid (one fuse holder per side), add a length of
10 gauge
red wire to the
charger end of the in-line fuse holders and connect it to the battery charger output terminals.
3)
Install a 30Amp fuse in the in-line fuse holder.
4)
Confirm battery charger operation by plugging in a 110 volt power cord to the electrical inlet on
the side of the ambulance labeled ‘battery charger’.
5)
Check in-line fuse holder fuses and charger operation at every “A” service.
