MODULARBODYREMOVAL
Once again, perform a quick check to ensure that there are no significant problems in removing the
modular body from thechassis.
Remove theGrilleassembly from the front of thechassis.
Having done this, we recommend that the vehicle be raised by a four-point hoist (to have total and
unobstructedviewof theundersideof thechassis) and that the removal or disconnectionof underchassis
componentsbegin. Items thatmust bedisconnected include;
- removeheat shields as appropriate
- heater hoses anddrain system
- air conditioninghoses (don't forget toevacuate the system)
- under chassis electrical harnesses, both factory and conversion
- remove the body to chassis ground strap and or other wires that may be attached to the
chassis.
- remove the conversionbumper and towhooks
- disconnect gas filler lines
- remove runningboards
- remove the rear mud flaps to provide better clearances when removing the body from the
chassis.
All underchassis and under hood components are ideal candidates for replacement due to the extremes
in temperature andweather that they are subjected to.
Lower the ambulance andprepare for thenext phaseof thebody removal process.
Starting under the hood, remove or disconnect all conversion related electrical components. Save for
later use if possible.
