Powder Paint Repair Procedure
1 Initial Preparation: Cleaning andBodyPreparationof Bodies

Washentire bodywith hot soapywater and rinsewith cleanwater.
Allow to air dry over night.

Clean entire exterior of bodywithOX436Wax

Proper cleaning procedures is very important.. Use the following steps:
- Use only cleannew rags
- Change rags as often as needed
- Never let theOX436 air dryon theunit
1DRemoval
Remover all body parts (doormirrors, lights, door handles, etc.)
All mounted partsmust be removed prior topainting.
Remove all corrosion by grinding off using36-40 grit dry paper.
Completely removing all blustering paint
Grind any dents requiring plastic filler using80 grit dry paper
1EGrinding
PPGDF-700Technifill-Plus or FiberglassEvercoat RageGoldwith proper catalyst
according tomanufacturers recommendation of 2% catalyst byweight of filler.
Thoroughlymix the 2 products together.

DoNot
thinbody filler with fiberglass resinmaterial.
DoNot
shake cans of filler.
Over catalyzing of body fillers can lead to brittlematerial, stainingof topcoat finishes,
and poor adhesion properties. A non uniformmixturewill lead to soft areas andpinholes.
Thinning filler with fiberglass resinWILL lead to soft body filler. Shaking filler can causeair
pockets that become pinholes.
1GApply
Plastic Fillermixture in thin smooth coatswith a slight downward pressure to prevent
air pockets from forming.
DoNot
attempt to spread plastic filler that has started the
curing process. This can result in air pockets, pinholes, soft areas andoverall
poor adhesion properties.
1HDry
Allow filler to dry 15 to20minutes prior to sanding.
1I Sand
Use 80Grit paper to rough-in filler to desired shape.
1JRe-Apply
If more filler is needed,mix inaccordance to directions aboveThoroughly air gun blow the
surface clean prior to applyingmore filler.. Apply additional filler as outlineabove. If the
area is not cleanedwith
a
air blow gunprior to the applicationof more filler, thedust in the
bottomof the scratch can cause an unstable substrateallowingmaterials to sink to the
bottomof the scratch later.
Followpreviously outlineddrying and sanding procedures.
1KFinal Inspection
With an air blowgun, blow thepanel freeof all dust Inspect the panel for aggressive
scratches and pinholes. If scratches and/or pinholes are found, apply a thin coat of
FiberglassEvercoat GlazeCoat Putty or PPGOF-715Techniglaze..
Final
sand
ALL
plastic filler with
180
grit dry.. Followmixing, applicationanddrying times previously
outlined.
1LCompleteSand
Final sand all baremetal with80-120grit onaDA sander.
Final sand all painted surfaceuse320grit on aDA sander.
1MNote
Apply primer within24hours after sanding or re-sandandwash.
